ILB: Eh, I don’t really think it’s funny. Who his father is should mean nothing either in this case or generally. And the fact that the poor man can’t go anywhere without it being brought up must be horrible for the guy.

And I agree with you, that law was extremely poorly researched and written, nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction which could harm a lot of perfectly harmless people with perfectly harmless kinks.

LadyP: Thank you very much, I’m glad you approve. In a way I wish I hadn’t waited so long to cover it, I got on it so late that even now he’s won my blood is still boiling about it all. Well done to the judge for doing a marvellous job.

I so agree with every word – the judge had it right when he said that you “could expect privacy for consensual ’sexual activities (albeit unconventional)’”. :)

I’d like to think this will help to put a nail into the ready-and-waiting coffin for those trying to kill off the “extreme pornography” legislation that will come into force next year. We can but hope.

Haven’t you heard about the NCSF- the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom? They have been at the forefront of the advocacy of alternative sexuality for over a decade… there are a LOT of us that have been members or support orgs assisting in the ongoing effort to get the *correct* information to the media rather than letting them just make stuff up.

I was waiting for someone in the collection of bloggers I follow to write something about Mr Mosley’s case. I’m glad it was written by one who gave it a balanced and passionate argument.

I too was very annoyed and grr-ified by that ‘newspaper’ and its portrayal of not only MM but the whole community of people who delve into BDSM. It’s demonising, poisonous ink on a very dubious paper. I can’t stand the press at the best of times and they will practically leap at a story like this.
